Qualification tournament for the 2024 Canadian Youth Chess Championship (CYCC) which will take place in Laval in July 2024.

***please note that the maximum number of players for this tournament is 180 - there will be no onsite registrations

CUMULATIVE RESULTS GRAND PRIX 1 AND 2

PLEASE NOTE: On-site registration runs from 10.30am to 11.15am. Players who register after 11:15 a.m. will miss the first game.

WHEN??? 

FOR GRAND PRIX 1 - Sunday November 12th, the tournament begins at 11:30am and should end around 4:30pm - 5:00pm.

You may pre-register until Friday, November 10th at noon for 40$ or 100$ for the 3 tournaments or register on site for 45$ or 115$ for the 3 tournaments before the begining of the tournament.

FOR GRAND PRIX 2 - Sunday January 21th, the tournament begins at 11:30am and should end around  4:30pm - 5:00pm.

You may pre-register until Friday, January 19th at noon for 40$ or register on site for 45$ before the begining of the tournament.

FOR GRAND PRIX 3 - Sunday May 12th, the tournament begins at 11:30am and should end around  4:30pm - 5:00pm.

You may pre-register until Friday, May 10th at noon for 40$ or register on site for 45$ before the begining of the tournament.

At Loisirs St-Henri, 530 rue du couvent, Montréal. H4C 2R4.

Tournament by age categories:

The participants will play against players in the same age category.

Tournament by age categories. Players who accumulate the most points during the 3 tournaments
will be eligible for the regular prizes. All players who score 7.5 points or more and did not win 
one of the regular prizes are eligible to share the $1500.
(All prizes are in the form of gift certificates redeemable at Strategy Games or for one of our activities)

To have fun, the child must be able to mate and know the difference between mate and stalemate.
5 rounds tournament.The time control is 20 minutes + 5 seconds increment.

In addition to the top 10 of each grade, all those who have played 10 or more rated games between September 1st and December 31, 2023 will be invited to accompany us to the Saratoga Springs, New York scholastic championship.
