The 2025 North American Youth Chess Championships will be held in Kingston, Ontario, Canada from August 17, 2025 (Arrival Day) through August 23, 2025 (Departure Day). Players born on or after January 1, 2007, who are either listed in the FIDE database under Canada, USA, Mexico, or Bermuda, or not listed in the FIDE database at all but hold Canadian citizenship or residency, are eligible to participate.

Official players registration
Official players designated by a National Federation must confirm their participation by June 02, 2025. Confirmations received between June 02 and August 01 will incur a $60 late fee, payable online.
Canadian players registration
Players registered with FIDE under the Canadian flag must have a valid CFC or FQE membership through the last day of the NAYCC. Memberships can be purchased online from the CFC/FQE or on-site in Kingston, with a surcharge, prior to the start of the tournament. Canadian players without valid memberships will not be paired for Round 2 and subsequent rounds until they address this requirement.
Meal Package
Players and accompanying persons can purchase a meal package (11 meals) at registration, which consists of six hot breakfasts and five lunches for a total of $200 (including taxes). The parent will not be able to accompany their child without paying for the meal package. Official players are eligible for a free meal package if they request it at registration.
Parking
Parking on Queen's University property is subject to a fee. The cost is $15 per day through the HONK app + fees (currently $0.45).
Blitz event
A FIDE-rated speed chess tournament (Blitz) will be organized on Thursday, August 21st, at 3 p.m. The Blitz is an open event. Parents, friends and members of the public are also welcome to play. Valid FIDE ID is needed to register. Valid CFC/FQE membership is needed for Canadian players. The cost is $35 per player when registering or $45 on site. No refund if you cancel. Sections will be determined based on the number of registrations.
