ESTRIE - SCHOLASTIC CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
QUALIFIER FOR THE QUEBEC CHESS CHALLENGE

For students from Kindergarten to CEGEP 1
Open to all Quebec chess players

​- Each student plays against players from the same grade:
If the number of players is not enough in a categoy, the games will be played in at least two grades. In a game where the two players are from different grades, the result of the game is applicable only for the player of the higher grade. The other gets a Bye of (1) point.
- All players receive an afficial scholastic CMA chess rating
(Numerical evaluation of playing strength)

Entree fee:

- Registration: $10 for members of the Sherbooke Junior Chess Club and $15 for non members;
- Players are asked to register between 9:30 to 11:30 on April 2, 2017.

Prizes:

- A trophy for the champion and silver and bronze medals for each grades.
- Qualification for the best girl in each grade!

Points:

- Points for a game will follow this scale:
Defeat - 0 point  Draw - 1/2 point Win - 1 point Forced Bye - 1 point
Bye - 1/2 point (You have to ask for a Bye when you register the same morning of the tournament. A maximum of 2 byes may be granted.)

Qualification for the Quebec Chess Challenge (on April 30, 2017):

One registration form per group of 8 participants in each grade will be given to those who can participate at the Provincial Championship. If the top is a player from outside the region, this does not affect the number of certificates available for the region.
