the Top 3 of each section
Prizes:
► An amount of $ 500 will be divided in each section between the Top 3:
1st: $ 300
2nd: $ 125
3rd: $ 75
► And everybody who finish the tournament with at least 2.5 points out of 5 qualify for the Canadian Youth Chess Championship 2018 (CYCC).
The CYCC 2018 is a National Championship to be held in Quebec city from July 2-5, 2018, qualifying the top Canadians U8-U10-U12-U14-U16-U18 boys and girls to the World Cadet Championship (U8-U10-U12) and to the World Youth Chess Championship (U14-U16-U18) to be held respectively in Santiago de Compostela, Spain from November 3-16 and Halkidiki, Greece from October 19-31. Tournament:
Tournament by age categories (on January 1st, 2018) :
U8 : Less than 8 years old - Born in 2010 or after
U10 : Less than 10 years old - Born in 2008 or 2009
U12 : Less than 12 years old - Born in 2006 or 2007
U14 : Less than 14 years old - Born in 2004 or 2005
U18 : Less than 18 years old - Born in 2000, 2001, 2002 or 2003
***Open to all youngsters residing in Canada for at least one year from the tournament date.
Time control: 25 minutes + 5 seconds increment from the start. Sets and clocks provided. 5 rounds Swiss system.
Registration on site: 10:30 - 11:00 am
1st round: 11:15 am
The tournament is rated CMA, FQE and CFC.
Entry Fee:
► $50 until May 25th, 5:00 pm;
► $60 until June 1st, 1:00 pm;
► $75 on site the day of the tournament;
