WELCOME to our Online Chess Tournament! Please memorize the easy 10-step guide below:

TOURNAMENT runs 1 - 5 pm; Come early, we're waiting from 12 noon on Zoom to help you:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. TO PLAY: a game each round, your child or the opponent, must "Challenge" each other.
2. LOG IN: to your Lichess Account!   https://lichess.org/
3. FIND your opponent's name - it's every round, in the above Google Sheet Link - COPY this name.
4. GO: to Lichess's Search Bar - on Top Right, next to your Username. Click on the little magnifying glass.
5. PASTE: in your opponent's Username & CLICK. His profile appears. Click on the 2 crossed swords icon.
   
6. TO CHALLENGE Select "STANDARD". Time:  "REAL TIME". Minutes: "15",
   Increment: "5". Select "RATED" and finally click your king's color Black or White.
   
7. MUST: both accept the Challenge. Both clocks will start. If no response, the game is lost.
8. GAME over, both players MUST report the result. Go back to the bottom of Google Sheet page.
9. ENTER RESULTS: Click on correct Pairings/Result Sheet. Click on the Pink Box.
   Click score of WHITE's result only!! (1-win; 0-loss; .5-tie). Black's result comes automatically!
   Be very careful - only one chance to enter the correct result. Pls - NO wrong results!!
10. PROBLEMS?  CLICK the chat screen. LESLIE will help you! You can also ask Omar on Zoom.

Dear Members and Parents

We are pleased to invite you to the online rated Chess ’N Math Winter Trio Tournament 2022, played by rating (strength) sections (up to 20 players) using CMA ratings. The Tournament is directed by FIDE Arbiter FA Omar Shah, Pairings Director Leslie Armstrong, in conjunction with International Arbiters IA Francis Rodrigues, and IA Larry Bevand.

Time Control: 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment (5 rounds)
Where: Online - a link with instructions will be sent to all participants
Entry: $ 15. Also, see the registration deadline below ***
Prizes: 1st:  $30.  2nd: $20.  3rd: $15 for each section (all prizes Gift Certificates at Strategy Games)

*** IMPORTANT ***: We must receive your registration by 12 noon (EST) on tournament day to be able to participate.

Please note :

Online tournaments are based on the integrity of all participants. Regular Chess’n Math Association tournament
rules apply. Competitors may not have outside assistance, either from another player or computer - our software can detect this. The Tournament Directors will penalize a result that used outside assistance. All CMA games are
recorded automatically. We hope to see you there (virtually ☺) in large numbers! Please log in by 12:55 pm.
