NAYCC Update: Additional Information

 

We will have a registration desk set up at Ban Righ Hall, 10 Bader Lane, from noon to 10pm on Thursday Aug 15 and again on Thursday Aug 16 from 7:00am - 9:00 am. Everyone must come by in order to pick up their information kits, meal package wristbands, banquet tickets, etc.Residence: If you are staying at the University, you have to check in at the main desk of the David C Smith House, 222 Stuart Street.

Parking Passes can be purchased at the residence check-in David C Smith House, 222 Stuart Street. We are not responsible for parking nor safety of vehicules.

Opening Banquet will be held at the Ban Righ Hall, 10 Bader Lane beginning at 6pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Allergies: If you have a meal package and you have allergies, you will have to fill out a form. E-mail me at bevand@chess-math.org. This must be done no later than Aug 10, 2019.

Meals: They will be served in the cafeteria at Leonard's Hall, 128 Queen's Cres. Meal packages must be purchased in advance. None will be sold on-site.

Breakfast will be served from 7:30am - 9:30am. Lunch will be served from noon to 3:00pm. On Friday and Saturday morning the cafeteria will be handling over 1,000 people so please get there early. For the other meals you will have no problem. You must have a wristband to enter the cafeteria. If you have a child under 11 years old and want to accompany your child into the cafeteria, we have a different colored wristband for you which you can pick up at Ban Righ Hall on the 15th of August.

Airport Pick-ups: If you are arriving by airplane at the KINGSTON airport, we can pick you up. However you must contact me with specifics before Aug 13, 2019. We do not do pick-ups from any other airport. We do not pay for any transportation to or from the site.

All equipment is provided (sets, boards and clocks so please do not bring equipment into the playing hall.

For pairing purposes, we will be using the following rules:If you have a FIDE rating, we will use your FIDE rating.If you do not have a FIDE rating, we will use your National rating. For example, for Americans, we will use your USCF rating. For Canadians (except Quebec) we will use your CFC rating. For Quebec players we will use your FQE rating.If you do not have any of the above ratings but you have a CMA rating, we will use your CMA rating. We will take your rating as of Aug 6, 2019. Ratings to be used should be posted by Aug 13, 2019
